Prohibition Officer William Meade was shot and killed from ambush in Wayne County. He and several other officers had recently conducted several raids in the county.

Officer Meade had only served with the agency for two months. He was survived by his wife.

My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never dimishes respect, not even 89 years.
