Deputy Jim Fee was shot and killed by a man he had arrested earlier in the day for selling liquor. After being released on bond, the man returned home and threatened Deputy Fee.

At approximately 8:30 pm the man went to Deputy Fee's home and shot him twice with a shotgun as the deputy stood on his porch. Deputy Fee identified the man as the shooter before succumbing to his wounds at approximately 2:00 am.

Deputy Fee was survived by his wife and six children.

Though I never knew you I remember my mom speaking of you often and the hardships her family suffered because of your murder. She was left at 12 years of age to fend for herself because at that time there were no welfare or food stamps and my grandmother could not keep her children so she had to
pretty much give the older ones to people for domestic work for room and board so they would not die from starvation. This sounds like a made up story but it is the truth. My Mother married at 15 and had 9 children that lived and raise them all, alone with my Father of course. I wish I could have met you I never had a Grandfather. So rest in peace grandfathr your little girl did good.
