Sergeant Barbara Shumate was killed in an automobile accident when her department pickup truck hit the rear of a dump truck that was stopped in the 400 block of FM Road 2821 in Walker County, Texas.
Sergeant Shumate had served with the agency for 10 years. She is survived by her son, daughter, and mother.
