William Blumstein

Patrolman Blumstein was shot and killed as he and his partner attempted to arrest five robbery suspects in a street car at Philip and Magnolia Streets.

All five suspects were arrested and charged with murder a month later. Three were convicted of murder and hanged July 21, 1933.

Patrolman Blunstein was survived by his wife and five sons.

My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
