Village Marshal Ole Havey was shot and killed just after midnight by burglars he surprised inside the Bellan Brother's General Store.

As the marshal approached the store, the suspects opened fire through the front door.

My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
