Officer William Diaz-Pagan was shot and killed from ambush as he drove his unmarked department vehicle.

The suspects fled the scene and have not been identified. It is believed that Officer Diaz-Pagan was targeted in revenge for his work on a multi-agency task force to combat gangs and drugs.

Officer Diaz-Pagan had served with the agency for 12 years. He was survived by his wife wife and two children.

William was my cousin. He was killed on November 12, 1994 at the age of 19. He left behind his wife and a 6 month old son at the time of his death. We miss him dearly. Today, on the 19th anniversary of his death, we reflect on the good times we had with him. His son has grown into an awesome young man. We love you Will and will never forget you.
