I am a librarian in Gloucester, Virginia, and I am doing a school-wide project on the importance of appreciating our community helpers. The members of the Police Unity Tour will be riding by our school on Tuesday, May 10, 2016. When they get here, we are going to greet them with our own wall of appreciation and honor.

One of our 650 students will be learning about the ultimate sacrifice you made serving the citizens of Baton Rouge. That student will learn all they can about you through research conducted in the library. While we don't know you personally, we can promise you will NEVER be forgotten! In the words of one of my students, "It is important to show appreciation and honor to other members of our community because they choose to help the community and they choose to help us."

Thank you, Officer Beck, for choosing this noble profession. Your sacrifice was not in vain, and you will forever live on in the memory of others.
