Deputy Sheriff Blackman was shot and killed while investigating a stabbing with another deputy. The two deputies located the suspect at his home and informed him he would have to accompany them to the police station.
The man was permitted to get his coat, but he returned to the door with a shotgun and fatally shot Deputy Blackman.
