Pedro Valdez, Jr.

Deputy Sheriff Pedro Valdez was shot and killed after arresting a garage owner for unlawfully carrying a pistol in Luling.

The subject was arrested and placed in the county jail. He was indicted for unlawfully carrying a pistol by the Caldwell County Grand Jury on March 30th, 1928. Nothing more is recorded about the disposition of this case.

On October 25th, 1928, the same man was indicted for murder by the Caldwell County Grand Jury but the case was later dismissed on November 15th, 1935, without comment.

Deputy Valdez was survived by his wife. He was buried in the Catholic Cemetery in Luling, Caldwell County.
