Alfred J. Beyl

Corporal Alfred Beyl was shot and mortally wounded at Dauphine and St. Louis Streets by a man he attempted to arrest for shooting another man at a nearby night club. He died at Charity Hospital five days later.

The 23-year-old suspect was convicted of his murder and hanged April 1st, 1921.

Corporal Beyl was survived by his wife and son.
