Jailer Thomas Douglas suffered a fatal heart attack while participating in a required training run.

He had been conducting warm-up exercises and jogged approximately a quarter mile when he collapsed. He was immediately transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Jailer Douglas had served with the Harris County Sheriff's Department for 5 years. He is survived by his wife and two children.
