Carl Frederick Reinhold Court

Deputy Sheriff Carl Court was shot and killed in Chaneyville while speaking to a saloon owner while making his rounds.

He was in the saloon, which was built along the Southern Pacific Railroad tracks just north of Washington Avenue, when he was shot. He was shot from ambush by a suspect who was on the outside of the saloon.

Deputy Court had served with the Harris County Sheriff's Office for five years. He was survived by his wife, children, mother, and three siblings.
