Deputy Constable was accidentally shot and killed when he responded to a disturbance at a local bar. When he pulled out his service weapon someone struck his arm, causing him to discharge the weapon. The round struck him in the neck, killing him.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 117th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.

I was saddened to see that Christmas Day is the eow for so many, many officers. Rest In Peace.
