Officer George Frame was shot and killed while attempting to arrest a suspected bootlegger. The suspect had previously threatened to kill Officer Frame if he ever interfered in his bootlegging operation.

When Officer Frame approached the suspect, the man shot him twice, then a third time after the officer had fallen to the ground. The suspect plead guilty to first degree murder and was sentenced to only 30 years.

Officer Frame had previously served with the Newport News Police Department. He was survived by his wife.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 87th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.
