Patrolman Marlon Titus was killed in an automobile crash while responding to backup another officer at approximately 1:40 am.
The crash occurred when Patrolman Titus's patrol car left the roadway and struck two buildings near Park Avenue and Grand Street. He was transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries a short time later.
Patrolman Titus had served with the Memphis Police Department for 1-1/2 years. He is survived by his wife and 1-year-old child.
