Watchman Osborne was stabbed to death while on foot patrol with another watchman. An intoxicated man approached the two from behind and stabbed Watchman Osborne in the neck without being provoked. The other watchman clubbed the suspect and took him into custody. The man was sentenced to death by hanging.

Watchman Osborne died of his wounds three days later. He was survived by his wife.

My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
