Officer Donald Baty was shot and killed at the Greyhound Bus Station as he attempted to arrest a robber.

Officer Baty was in the waiting room of the bus station when a man told him he had just been robbed of $64.00 by four men and pointed one of them out. As Officer Baty made contact with the man he pulled a gun and shot him. A gun battle with the suspect resulted as a dozen officers arrived. When it was over the suspect was wounded, a bus patron was killed, and a bus station employee was seriously wounded.
