Undersheriff Frank Greenan and Sergeant Edgar Tedder were shot and killed as they were chasing an armed robbery suspect.

The two officers went to the suspect's rural farm in another county while investigating the armed robbery. When the suspect saw the officers he began to flee. During the chase he shot and killed both officers. The suspect then shot and killed himself.

Undersheriff Greenan had served with the Oakland County Sheriff's Office for 15 years.

My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
