Deputy Pollock died after being overcome by heat during a training session. He was one of six deputies learning how to conduct building searches when he began to feel ill, went outside, and sat down. He then stopped breathing and had no heartbeat. The other deputies on the scene began CPR and he was flown to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. At the time of his death, the nation had been in a severe heat wave for several weeks. He had been with the agency for three years.

Your last day at the jail before transferring to patrol, you bought the shift pizza one last time. I remember this wasn't the first time you were generous with your pocketbook, but I vividly remember how generous you were with your time. You took about an hour to tell me the rigors of the police academy and the commitment it was going to take.

You truly were an amazing man that was taken too soon... God Bless you & your family; I am thankful for your service to your fellow man & teaching me the lesson of how to pay it forward... ~Lest We Forget~
