John Michael Richardson

Officer John Richardson succumbed to injuries sustained the previous day when his patrol car struck a bridge on I-40.

He was returning home in his department's canine vehicle when the incident occurred. His canine, Tossy, received minor injuries in the incident.

Officer Richardson had served with the Nashville International Airport Police for 3-1/2 years. He is survived by his wife and two children.

Michael,

It's hard to believe that it has been 18 years since we lost you. I keep a picture of you and Tossy on my desk. Although it's hard to look at everyday, it reminds me of why I chose this profession. Your my hero brother and I'll never forget you. Although I wish you here, I know we'll be together again one day. Until then keep watching over me. Tell Ma Bush to have me a big glass of sweat tea ready and tell Pa to make some room for me on that wooden swing. I love you !
