Patrolman Barr was struck and killed by a drunk driver while directing traffic. The driver fled the scene but later turned himself into police.

Patrolman Barr had been with the agency for 21 years. He was survived by his wife and daughter.

My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
