Agent Pedro Rodriguez-Franco was killed in an aircraft accident while attempting to move an airplane to a safe location in preparation for Hurricane George. The plane he was piloting collided with another plane over the sea near Puerto Rico, causing both planes to crash. The second pilot was rescued from the sea.

Agent Rodriguez-Franco had served with the agency for nine years. He is survived by his wife and three children.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 11th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
