Corrections Officer Himstedt was killed in a bus accident as he was transporting prisoners. During the transport he lost control of the bus on State Highway 7 in Centerville, causing it to roll over several times.
Officer Himstedt served with the Transportation Unit. He was survived by his son, daughter, brother, sister, and three grandchildren.
