Dear Gilbert,

My name is Brandy and I work for the Fremont County Sheriff's Office. I have served as a dispatcher, a jailer, and a new reserve deputy. I am working hard to follow in your footsteps, proudly wear the uniform, and protect the community.
Your picture still hangs in the sheriff's office and I have spent many months dusting it on each of my jailer shifts. The picture above is permanently etched in my mind as well as the story of that tragic night. Each time I dust your picture, I stop for a few minutes to pay my respects to you and pray for your family. I have stopped many times and thought about wearing that uniform and dangers that come with it. I have thought of the possibility of my three young sons being left without their mother, but my respect and pride I have for you out weighs the fear. Even though we never met, you are a hero to me. May God bless your family and may you rest in peace. You are dearly missed at the office and will never be forgotten.

Sincerely,

Brandy Dresher
