Officer Conklin was killed in an automobile while attempting to stop a speeding vehicle. Officer Conklin's patrol vehicle, a Ford Expedition, left the roadway as he attempted to catch the vehicle from a stationary radar location. He was ejected from the vehicle as a result of the crash.

Today I was promoted to Detective in Tuxedo Park. I said a prayer for Jason as it is directly because of him, his family and their generosity that I was able to become a police officer in the first place and I like to believe he is with me when I patrol. God bless him and may he rest in peace.
