Rest in peace, Mike.

We were classmates in USBP #135. You were a great guy and everyone enjoyed getting to know you. Your wit and sense of humor brightened up even the toughest parts of the academy. In fact, it led one of our brothers to dub you "Mad Maldo," because we never knew what crazy thing you might come up with next. All retired now, our BP class holds a reunion every few years, and we all enjoy swapping "Mad Maldo" stories. If only you could be there to laugh with us. Just rest assured that you will never be forgotten as long as one of us is still left alive.

As the Old Patrol Agents would say, you were a good man to ride the river with.
