I have recently join the ODMP community and have began looking really hard at the hero listed on this site and their stories of self sacrifice. Born and raised in Mooresville, I felt viewing the local heroes of my home town was important and I came across Lieutenant Barger's story.

Though this may have occurred in 1974 it still is and will always be a tragedy. We all must grieve over the lost in the line of duty. I thank you for the dedicated service you committed to the Mooresville Police Department Lieutenant Barger. May you Rest In Piece.
