Grandpa,
I have been thinking about you a lot lately. It has been 15 years today, since you passed away. I was in 7th grade when you died, and you have been missed so much. I missed so much, not getting to know you better. You always teased me as a little boy, asking if I have a girlfriend; well, I am married now, and have an amazing daughter, who I know you would love so much. And though she's less than two, I've already taken her to the fallen officer's memorial, and showed her your name. I want her to know who you were, and that you were a great grandpa, who loved me so much, and who I loved right back.
This week I started my training to become a correctional officer. I keep thinking of you, and drawing strength from you. I miss you grandpa.
