Detective Wolsey was shot and killed by a suspect who attempted to rob him. While standing street corner a suspect attempted to rob Detective Wolsey and a citizen he was talking with. The suspects stuck a pistol in Woolsey’s abdomen but the detective still went for his own gun. The detective’s gun misfired, and as Detective Wolsey pulled the trigger a second time, so did the suspect. Both guns fired and both men fell to the ground and died.
