William Theodore "Teddie" Balding

Special Agent William Balding was killed when his vehicle was struck by a grape truck at the intersection of 7th Street and Folsom Street in San Francisco, California.

Both vehicles overturned upon collision, ejecting Agent Balding, the other agent, and the truck driver. Agent Balding succumbed to his injuries.

The truck driver was charged with manslaughter in connection with his death.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 78th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
