Officer Wilson was killed when a speeding vehicle being driven by a drunk driver, struck him as he was crossing a street to use a call box. The suspect was apprehended and tried in connection with Officer Wilson's death.

Officer Wilson had been a member of the Seattle Police Department for 9 years. He was survived by his wife, son, and daughter.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 87th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.
