Patrolman Olin Wilson was shot and killed while questioning a man about the man shooting a firearm carelessly. The suspect was apprehended and executed for the crime.

A local resident approached District Four Patrolman Wilson at his residence and informed him that a man had just fired two shots into the windows of her residence. While relating this story the woman saw the suspect and pointed to him. When Patrolman Wilson called out to the suspect he drew his revolver and shot Patrolman Wilson three times.

Patrolman Wilson was taken to General Hospital where he died the next morning.

The murderer was convicted and executed eight months later. He was the fourth person executed for murder of a Cincinnati policeman.

Patrolman Wilson had served with the agency for two years. He was survived by his wife and son and is buried in Union Baptist Cemetery in Covedale.
