Dear Ron,

The events last week here in Dallas where we lost five officers, and several others wounded, brought back your memory to me. I went to church with you, and my Dad was your baseball coach. I used to sit in the dugout and keep the stats. I remember how shy you were, and what a nice smile you had, and what a good friend you were to so many.

I will never forget the day you were killed, and the horrible circumstances. You truly did not deserve that at all. There were so many of us, your friends, at your funeral, and we were all in utter shock. We cried, we hugged each other, and we told stories of the good times with all of us.

I think of you often, and remember fondly our youth group at STBC. I know others think of you as well.

I know you are with the Lord, and are now welcoming the officers who were killed. My Mom and Dad are in Heaven as well. Hopefully, you have caught up with them some.

Your sacrifice will never be forgotten.
