Patrolman James P. Baggott was shot and killed during an arrest.
Patrolman Baggott was approached by a citizen who identified a man with a gun on the street. As Officer Baggott attempted to place the gunman under arrest, the assailant drew his weapon and fired. Officer Baggott was mortally wounded.
