Patrolman Robert Watford was shot and killed while sitting in his patrol car at Charlton Street and Bull Street.

The suspect was an armed robbery suspect. The subject shot Patrolman Watford and then stole his badge and gun.

Patrolman Watford had served with the Savannah Police Department for only five months. He was survived by his wife and two children.

Bobby was setting in his car writing a report at Charlton and Bull St. when Leroy Bailey came out of the bushes and shot him in the left/back of the head. Stuffed his body half under his unit and stole his gun and badge as proof so he could be leader of the Bandalaros street gang. Bobby was found by Officer Al Murray, (now deceased).
