Officer Harrison Wallace succumbed to injuries sustained in a motorcycle crash two days earlier between Newberg and Portland.

He and another officer were pursuing a vehicle believed to be involved in a bank robbery when their handlebars made contact and caused him to crash.

Officer Wallace was a U.S. Army veteran of WWI. He was survived by his wife and two daughters.

On today, the 95th anniversary of your death I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice-not just for your Community but for our Country as well when you served with the U.S. Army during WW I. And to your Family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.
