Deputy Walker suffered a heart attack while scuffling with two teen-aged suspects. Deputy Walker and another deputy had stopped the subjects to investigate them for driving while intoxicated. Deputy Walker was taken to Mohave General Hospital where he died an hour and a half later.

Deputy Walker was also the pastor of the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Kingman.

Deputy Walker was survived by his wife Bessie and daughter Treleta.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 43rd anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect and your memory will always be honored and revered.
