Officer Walker was shot and killed during an undercover narcotics operation at Tucson International Airport. He was shot by the suspect while sitting in his car. The suspect was later apprehended with Officer Walker's flash-roll of money. The man was sentenced to life.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 32nd anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

I pray for solace on this day for all those who love and miss you.
