Deputy Wadsworth and Deputy Clyde Tatum were killed when their patrol cars collided at an intersection. Both deputies were en route to the same high-priority call when the accident occurred.

Deputy Wadsworth was survived by his wife and four children.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 59th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

I am sure you are proud that so many in your family continued your legacy of protecting and serving. Time never diminishes respect. Today I pray for the solace of all those who love and miss you for I know both the pain and pride are forever.
