Detective Tulley was shot and killed as he and two other officers attempted to arrest a suspect wanted for fatally stabbing a man 7 months earlier.

The officers had received word that the suspect was in a local restaurant. When they entered the restaurant the suspect pulled out his gun and opened fire. Detective Tulley and the suspect were both mortally wounded.

Detective Tulley had served with the agency for 13 years. He was survived by his wife.

My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
