I just learned that Officer Joseph Tiernan was my Grand-uncle, a brother of my Grand-father Henry Tiernan. I am so very proud to be part of his family. His memory will live on in generations of Tiernan-Mullans yet to come, where he will be remembered as a hero.
May he rest in peace.
