Sergeant L.G. Teague succumbed to gunshot wounds received two weeks earlier when he and several other officers raided a home while searching for a suspect wanted for murdering a security guard.

The suspect was apprehended; convicted of two counts of first degree murder; and sentenced to death. He was executed in the electric chair on April 27, 1928.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 84th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service to my home state and the birthplace of my son. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.
