Detective George Stuckey was killed during a traffic stop.

Detective Stuckey pulled over three men who had just robbed a bank in Levittown. As Detective Stuckey approached the vehicle, one of the suspects opened fire, killing Detective Stuckey. All three suspects were apprehended.

The man shot fatally shot Detective Stuckey was sentenced to life in prison. He escaped from prison on two different occasions by wearing smuggled civilian clothes and walking out of the prisons. He was captured in Canada after the first escape and captured in Tunisia after the second escape. He was returned to the United States both times to complete his sentence.

Detective Stuckey had served with the agency for 7 years. He was survived by his wife and two young kids.

Just reading up on officer George f.Stuckey, his story I know well because growing up in Bristol township and also being the grandson of officer and detective Charles J.Haines who was right next to him during the shoot out. Thank you officer Stuckey for your honor and bravery all though I never met you I feel like I known you my whole life. Now you and my pop are partners again god bless you both and thanks for your service.you did serve and protect........... Miss you pop
