Dale Crist Stone

Officer Dale Stone was killed in a motorcycle accident while responding to an officer down call put out when Officer Albert Bluhm was shot and killed.

Officer Stone collided with another vehicle and was pinned underneath it. Bystanders lifted the vehicle off of him in an attempt to save his life but he died shortly afterward. Officer Stone, a U.S. Marine Corps member, served with the Phoenix Police Department for two years.

He was survived by his wife. Officer Stone's father, a Maricopa County Sheriff, was shot and killed three weeks after this incident.

I was in the academy with Dale Stone and worked with Al Bluhm. Both were good men and good officers. I never had the chance to meet Rex Stone.
