Field Supervisor Steven Armenta was shot and killed following an undercover drug purchase in the city of Benicia. When the officers attempted to arrest the suspect he opened fire, fatally wounding Supervisor Armenta.

Supervisor Armenta was assigned to the Bureau of Narcotic Enforcement. He was survived by his wife and two children.

I especially think of Steve every year during The Calif. State Fair where I last saw him at Cal Expo just a few months before he was killed. He was our friend and fellow agent with my former husband, Mel Cozzalio (retired) of the Sacramento BNE office, and I wish his family peace, love and blessings.
