As we think of you on the anniversary of your birthday, our hearts break all over again. Your baby daughter’s due date was to be on your birthday.
We all miss you Skip and always will. You lived with kindness, compassion, honor and humor like none other in your 25 years. Your smile, your laughter are imbedded in my heart and all who knew you. I wish your children and grandchildren could hear your voice. Your tape recorder with recordings of you and your baby boy disappeared from your locker at the station. I wonder if any tapes exist of you DJ days? I last saw you as I drive past the house. You were out front racking leaves and I was laughing so hard. I wanted to turn around and tease you but I was committed in the far lane and just didn’t do it. I have regretted it every day of my life. We know you are safe now and are there for us when we reach out to you in our prayers. You saved many lives in your career and reached out to many young people to personally mentor. Many times you were awakened to a call from a mother desperate to find her child who was feared to be in trouble. You always took the time to find them and safely get them home. You cared and showed it..lived it 24/7
