Spencer Stafford

Inspector Stafford was shot and killed by a corrupt sheriff, a deputy and two other men in Post, Texas. As he exited a veterinary clinic the sheriff opened fire on him with a machine gun. The veterinarians had been charged with federal drug violations.

While awaiting trial, the sheriff and a deputy who killed Inspector Stafford both committed suicide.

Inspector Stafford was survived by his wife, parents and brother.
