Deputy Slobojan suffered a fatal heart attack during a foot pursuit of a juvenile robbery suspect. During the chase Deputy Slobojan collapsed. CPR was administered and he was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Deputy Slobojan had been with the agency for five years and was assigned to the Temple Sheriff's Station.
