Officer William Sikola was killed in a motorcycle accident while responding to assist in the pursuit of a stolen vehicle.

Officer Sikola was driving home from finishing his shift and a call came on the radio about a stolen vehicle from a local car dealer. Officer Sikola joined the pursuit and got a "high speed wobble" from the motorcycle. He received extensive head injuries from his shorty bell helmet and died 4 hours later

Officer Sikola had been with the agency for four years. He was survived by his wife and three children.

I am finally able to comment on my brother, Bill. Not by blood, but by life experience together. We grew up together the only 2 caucasian kids in an otherwise ethnically diverse neighborhood. We met sometime in 1960 and went through everything together, as close as 2 people could be, sharing every growing pain and new discovery, his parents were mine and mine his. I remember the day in 1970 I believe, when he came to our house to tell us his dad had died the night before. We both began manhood after that, he moved away, married Becky, returned, fathered Danny, and Amber. Those are the only children I remember, sorry if I forgot anyone. When he left us, Danny was a young boy and Amber a tiny baby. Well Bill, here it is your birthday- July 3rd, 2011. You would have been 55 earth years old today. The funny thing is, to me you are still here. Happy birthday, pep. I miss your smile.
