Patrolman Sheehan was shot and killed by a disorderly person in Chathem Square, Manhattan. Patrolman Sheehan had asked the suspect to move on, but the suspect refused. Patrolman Sheehan was forcibly moving the suspect, when the suspect drew a revolver and shot Patrolman Sheehan in the head, killing him. The suspect was apprehended by responding officers.
Patrolman Sheehan was assigned to the 3rd Precinct.
